ONE-DAY EXCURSION ZRMANJA – CANUE SAFARI ZRMANJA
We invite you to a unique trip to the river Zrmanja one of the most beautiful and cleanest river in Europe.
The excursion takes from 10:00 a.m. or 10:30 till 5:00 p.m.
Excursion starts in village Kaštel Žegarski (1 h driving from Zadar) where skippers will be there, collecting of group and sharing equipment. You will receive instructions about the behavior of the river and rowing tehnique from the skipper and then begins the adventure which takes 5 - 6 hours with rest and swimming.
First part is quieter - you ll get a sense of how to maintain the desired direction rowing.
On halfway - turn the river Krupa, stranding boats and walking to the place where you can swim under waterfalls and tufa. After a rest and a meal you ll come back to the river Zrmanja where will surprise you a magnificent 11 - metar waterfall which you will tour on foot, and boats you will throw down the waterfalls.
In the second part of the downhill - there are plenty of waterfalls and rapids. Rowing is not difficult or dangerous, water in summer is clean and fresh, ideal for beginners.
The end - in village Muškovci where you can refresh yourself in the grill bar and rest in the shade by the river. LUNCH ( mixed meat + vegetables + salad + one drink or vege menu).
BOATS AND EQUIPMENT - you can use inflatable KAYAK for 2 people if the water is lower and inflatable NRS RAFTS BOATS for 6 - 8 persons (if the wather is higher), reliable and stable and very agile on the wild water. With it you get a waterproof container volume of 25 liters (for the camera, documents, dry clothes, food ...), paddles, life jacket, neoprene suit and helmet.
You need to bring: swimsuit, food for the river, running shoes or slippers for water, strap for goggles, towel and goodwill!
PRICE: 50 Eur for adults; 25 Eur for children up to 12 y.
THE PRICE INCLUDES: canoe safari (with equipment) and professional skippers, accident insurance, entrance ticket for Natural Park Velebit. Lunch is paying extra 28 eur/person.
TRANSPORT - we offer shuttle service by appointment for groups of at least 6 people. The price is 30,00 € per person

HOW TO REACH TO THE KAŠTEL ŽEGARSKI?
When arriving from the direction of:
-Starigrad:
Drive towards the city of Obrovac. At the centre of Obrovac cross the river Zrmanja and continue climbing along serpentines approximately 3 km. At the end of the climb there is a crossroads in the shape of letter T. Turn left towards Kaštel Žegarski. After about 20 km, take another turn to the left by the sign for Nature park "Južni Velebit" which directs you to the starting point of canoe safari route, next to the mill on Zrmanja.
-Zadar:
-from the southern part of the city follow the street "Kalmetina" towards the highway (entrance-exit Zadar 2). DO NOT enter the highway, but follow the direction towards Zemunik - Smilčić - Karin. After passing Karin, continue towards Obrovac. After passing Kruševo DO NOT turn left for Obrovac but continue straight ahead for Kaštel Žegarski for about 20 km.
- from the northern part of town go in the direction of Posedarje - Maslenica - Obrovac. At the centre of Obrovac cross the river Zrmanja and continue driving along serpentines for about 3 km. At the end of the climb there is a crossroads in the shape of letter T. Turn left towards Kaštel Žegarski. After about 20 km, take another turn to the left by the sign for Nature park "Južni Velebit" which directs you to the starting point of canoe safari route, next to the mill on Zrmanja.
- Biograd and Pakoštane:
Drive towards Obrovac throught Benkovac and Karin. After passing Kruševo DO NOT turn left for Obrovac, but continue straight ahead for Kaštel Žegarski for about 20 km. Take a turn to the left by the sign for Nature park "Južni Velebit" which directs you to the starting point of canoe safari foute, next to the mill on Zrmanja.
-Primošten, Šibenik and Vodice:
Take the old road through Stankovac to Benkovac. Then continue through Karin, above Obrovac towards Kaštel Žegarski.
Take the highway to the exit Maslenica - Obrovac. Enter the very town of Obrovac. At the centre of the town, cross the river Zrmanja and continue climbing along serpentines for about 3 km. At the end of the climb there is a crossroads in the shape of letter T. Turn left towards Kaštel Žegarski. After about 20 km, take another turn to the left by the sign for Nature park "Južni Velebit" which directs you to the starting point of canoe safari route, next to the mill on Zrmanja.
